If you have been following my journey for the last couple of days, you might have noticed that I am moving towards a more vegetarian and greener diet. One of the biggest changes is inclusion of smoothies in my breakfast.
Usually I have a lot of fruits and legumes. However, my diet has always lacked green-leafy vegetables. I wanted to include spinach etc. but could not get around to doing it. Today I finally did – in my smoothie!
Smoothie Day 3: Banana-Spinach-Yogurt-Peanut Butter Smoothie
Ingredients: Two bananas, five two six leaves of spinach, Greek yogurt (I used a mango flavored one, but would suggest the plain one, without any flavor), peanut butter
Process: Put the yogurt as the base, add some water in you want. Cut the bananas into small pieces and put them inside, along with the spinach. Add a dollop of peanut butter and whirrrrrr goes the blender!
One tip: please ensure that you wash the spinach properly before putting it in the blender. I soaked it in plain water for an hour before washing it few more times thoroughly.
That’s it! Now, it’s time to present my masterpiece! Drum-rolls, please! 😀
I found this recipe on Pick up Limes, a vlog by Canadian nutritionist, Sadia. If you are a fan of healthy food recipes, make sure you check her out, unless you are already doing it!
Until later,
