I began watching Tamasha with the hope that it would be some continuation of the Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani magic. In fact, the scenes in Corsica reminded me a lot of that movie. Needless to say, I love the chemistry between the leading pair.
However, for something by the name of Tamasha, this movie exceeded my expectations.
Agreed, the drama is heightened. But the message is clear. Clear and loud. Though it is difficult to believe the ordinary Products Manager that Ved is was the same person in Corsica, but the gap is understood. In a long time I saw a movie where the take of the story was new, something different from the usual rom-coms.
Being someone who has been in similar situations as Ved, I could totally relate to the moments of lapses that he has. I have been into way too many situations when I was totally displeased at the circumstances I was in, and anger was frothing in me and I was forced to maintain calm, because I couldn’t afford to show my emotions. An awesome performance by Ranbir Kapoor, of course. I totally loved the way he portrayed the character of an ordinary man.
